Stacy Marie Stranzl is an Illustrator that specializes in black and white ink portraits on paper, glass, and wood. Her main body of work supports body inclusivity through figure representation while hoping to help erase the idea that nudity equals sexuality. A vocal advocate of the #freethenipple movement, and the de-censorship of nudity in art.
Stacy attended York University for Fine Arts and dabbled in almost all of the studios that were available to her: painting, life drawing, digital photography, film photography, lithography, intaglio, and screen-printing. Even after a fair bit of experimentation with mediums, she still chooses drawing. For the last few years, Stacy has exclusively been an illustrator. Her work focuses on the movement of the line by using different-sized tips to spread the ink and different shading techniques.
Stacy’s work has been shown at the One of a Kind Show, York University, Humber College, Kensington Market Art Fair, Etsy markets, various outdoor summer and winter festivals in the GTA, and within various private collections worldwide.
Stacy Marie Stranzl currently resides in Mississauga, ON, Canada, and is working on self-publishing a book of 100+ nude portraits. A community-driven project with real humans submitting their selfies and photos to be re-created and highlighted as art.
The studio is located on the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit.
